Cameroonian coach Yves Clément Arroga has quickly found a new position following his departure from Panthère Sportive du Ndé. Less than three weeks after resigning, he has joined Union Vesper de Bata, a first division club in Equatorial Guinea.
Arroga takes over the team with the mission of turning things around, as Union Vesper currently sits 7th out of 12 in its sub-group after nine league games. His past experience, including securing survival with Panthère du Ndé and their subsequent rise, speaks in his favor. His method, tactical mastery, and disciplined approach are all assets to succeed in his mission.
An additional asset for Arroga is the presence in the team of Joël Marius Ngon A Tiati, a Cameroonian player he previously coached at Dynamo de Douala. This mutual knowledge could facilitate the coach's integration and the implementation of his playing principles. The Spanish language, official in Equatorial Guinea, should not pose a problem for Arroga, who has lived and studied in Spain.
Founded in 1975, Union Vesper de Bata has won two national cups, in 1989 and 1998. The club has participated twice in the African Cup Winners' Cup, without ever going beyond the early rounds. In 1989, they were eliminated by Patronage Sainte Anne of Congo, and in 1998, their journey ended in the preliminary round against Anges Fatima of Central Africa.
Arroga's arrival is seen by management and fans as a bet on experience and discipline, hoping to turn tactical intentions into victories. All eyes are now on him, with the hope that he can revitalize a team in search of stability and results.
