A network specializing in the production of fake car insurance certificates has been dismantled in Yaounde. The operation, led by the Motorized Road Platoon, resulted in the arrest of three women, who were subsequently brought before the Akonolinga prosecutor's office.

The intervention took place on the night of April 26, 2026, on National Road number 10, specifically on the Yaounde-Ayos section. The gendarmes, under the command of Adjutant-Chief-Major Ousman Adoum, checked a truck belonging to a local company. The discovery of fake insurance certificates during the verification of the vehicle's documents immediately led to the impoundment of the truck for investigation purposes.

The investigation, ordered by Lieutenant-Colonel Ngame Nsile Gontran, commander of Road Traffic Grouping number 1, led to the arrest of three women aged 23 to 30. One of them is allegedly the head of this fictitious company.

The promoter of the company owning the truck, Kegne Beaudelaire, says he was a victim of this scam and praised the efficiency of the national gendarmerie. He also called on economic operators to be more vigilant against these forgery networks.

According to the authorities, the three suspects confessed to the facts during the investigation and were brought before the Akonolinga prosecutor's office. They will have to answer the charges against them in court. The fight against car insurance fraud remains a priority for Cameroonian law enforcement.
