The Yaoundé Music Expo (YAMEX) is returning for its 6th edition, scheduled from April 2nd to 4th, 2026, in Yaoundé. This event brings together music professionals and enthusiasts, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and development for the future of African music.
This year, YAMEX will be held under the theme: "African Music: From Creation to Value Capture". The main objective is to create an international event that contributes to the improvement of the Cameroonian and Central African music ecosystem, addressing the challenges of structuring and professionalization.
The promoter of this cultural and artistic concept, Isidore Tameu, emphasized the importance of this event for structuring the local music scene through training, information, and talent promotion. According to Tameu, YAMEX is a challenge that began six years ago and continues to bear fruit through free training and live concerts open to the public. These concerts take place at the Ubuntu Cultural Center, with the support of Ruben Binam.
The Yaoundé Music Expo is supported by NUEVO MUNDO AFRICA and the HEALING THE WORLD WITH ARTS association. Since 2021, YAMEX has programmed over 100 artists on its stages, organized over 70 workshops, conferences, masterclasses, and B2B meetings, and hosted over 80 national and international experts and speakers, attracting over 10,000 participants.
To ensure its independence and maintain free access to the public, YAMEX has launched a crowdfunding campaign. The goal is to enable the event to continue to be self-funded while remaining accessible to as many people as possible.
Isidore Tameu Pfeudie, also known as Taphis, is a key figure in the Cameroonian music industry. As the founder of Nuevo Mundo Africa, he has supported numerous artists such as Tenor, Salatiel, and Locko. YAMEX continues to play an essential role in promoting and developing African music, offering a unique platform for professionals and enthusiasts.
"Actively participating in the structuring of our music scene through training, information and the dissemination of talent as well as industry players," a vision carried by Isidore Tameu and his team.
