The city of Bertoua, regional capital of eastern Cameroon, welcomed Thomas Roelle on March 16, the head of the French company Venture Nexus, which specializes in consulting and project management in the energy sector. This visit is part of an effort to explore the opportunities offered by the city in terms of renewable energies, particularly solar, and improving access to electricity for the population.

According to a statement from the town hall, Venture Nexus presented its innovative solutions to Mayor Jean Marie Dimbele Sodea. The company, created in 2016, highlights its expertise in analyzing energy needs, identifying potential sites for solar installations, technical and economic structuring of projects, and support in the search for funding. It also offers overall project coordination, from design to operation, integrating local skills as much as possible.

A town hall official stressed that this was an initial contact, focused on a constructive exchange around local energy issues and the exploration of potential avenues for collaboration. The projects considered by Venture Nexus in Cameroon include supplying electricity to neighborhoods, villages or complexes via centralized solutions, energy support for industrial sites, and solutions adapted to individual homes with high consumption.

Venture Nexus's current approach is to deepen its understanding of the Cameroonian regulatory framework, the specific needs on the ground and the priorities of local authorities. This exploratory phase is essential to assess the feasibility of potential collaborations before committing to concrete projects.

It should be noted that Venture Nexus is a relatively discreet company, with a low online presence. The French business directory mentions only one employee, its director Thomas Gerhard Roelle. During his visit to Bertoua, he was accompanied by Mireille Kombo, presented as his business manager, but better known in the events sector.

Venture Nexus's interest in Bertoua comes at a time when Cameroon is seeking to diversify its energy sources and improve access to electricity, particularly in rural and peri-urban areas. The city of Bertoua, as a regional capital, represents a pole of economic and demographic attraction, with growing energy needs. Collaboration with specialized companies such as Venture Nexus could help meet these needs in a sustainable and innovative way. It remains to be seen whether this initial contact will translate into concrete projects in the coming months.
