Vedat Muriqi has etched his name in RCD Mallorca's history by becoming the club's all-time top scorer in La Liga. The Kosovar striker surpassed the record previously held by Samuel Eto'o, a Cameroonian football legend. Muriqi paid tribute to his predecessor, emphasizing the significance of this milestone in his career. By scoring his 55th La Liga goal, Muriqi officially exceeded Eto'o's 54 goals.
"Every goal is part of my debt to this shirt. Making history is special, but there is still much to do – surpassing a great name like Samuel Eto’o is an honor," Muriqi stated. He also highlighted the collective aspect of this performance, thanking his teammates and everyone who has supported him.
Muriqi extended his gratitude to his family, teammates, the staff, and all the club's employees, emphasizing that this record would not have been possible without them. The club celebrated this achievement by displaying the Kosovar striker's boots in the museum at the San Moix stadium.
