Cameroon has secured its place in the upcoming Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), thanks to favorable results on the second day of the Union of Central African Football Federations (UNIFFAC) tournament. This qualification comes as the UNIFFAC tournament is in full swing, serving as a qualifying phase for the U17 AFCON.
The competition, taking place from February 16 to 22, pits Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Gabon against each other. The Cameroonian team has demonstrated its determination to secure a place for the U17 AFCON, scheduled to be held in Morocco.
Before the start of the tournament, Cameroonian coach Alioum Saïdou highlighted the challenges encountered while preparing the team, notably the MRI tests that rendered some players ineligible due to their age.
