A truck caused panic at Our Lady of Grace College in Muyuka this Wednesday morning when it collided with the school's perimeter wall. The incident, which occurred around 9:45 a.m., caused considerable material damage, but fortunately, no students or staff were injured.
The truck, which was transporting goods from Buea to Muyenge, lost control after a tire burst, according to witnesses. The vehicle then left the road and hit the college's perimeter wall, damaging part of the fence.
The truck driver and his assistant, commonly known as the "motor boy," were injured in the accident. The principal of the college, a Catholic priest, quickly responded by taking them to the Muyuka District Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. Their condition is not worrying, but they remain under medical observation.
The exact circumstances of the accident remain to be determined. Local authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident. This accident highlights the vulnerability of schools located near roads.
