André Onana's adventure in Turkey might continue. According to several sources, Trabzonspor is keen to keep the Cameroonian goalkeeper beyond his current loan, which expires in June 2026. The Turkish club is exploring the possibility of another loan, although a permanent transfer is not ruled out.
Onana's performances have apparently convinced Trabzonspor's management, who appreciate his contribution, especially during the recent Turkish Cup matches. The club reached the final of this competition, partly thanks to the Cameroonian goalkeeper's performances.
However, a permanent transfer looks complicated due to Manchester United's financial demands. The English club, linked to Onana until 2028, has reportedly set a sale price of around €20 million. After two mixed seasons at Old Trafford, Manchester United seems ready to part ways with the player permanently.
According to reports, Manchester United does not want to reintegrate Onana into their squad and would rather sell him this summer to recover part of the £47.2 million invested in his acquisition in 2023. The goalkeeper's significant salary, estimated at around £120,000 a week, could also be an obstacle to a permanent transfer.
Besides Trabzonspor, Beşiktaş JK is also closely monitoring André Onana's situation. Several clubs could show interest in the upcoming transfer window, which could revive negotiations and offer other options to the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
