Stéphane Edzigui, known for his criticism of Samuel Eto'o, has published an analysis on Meta comparing the mandates of the last four presidents of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT). His assessment places Samuel Eto'o in last position, contrasting with the achievements of his predecessors.
Edzigui praises the work done by the former presidents, but he portrays Eto'o's time at the head of FECAFOOT as a difficult period for the national teams. He points out that, unlike some of his predecessors who led the teams to titles or finals, Eto'o is seen as having marginalized several important figures of the Indomitable Lions.
To support his analysis, Edzigui details the successes of previous leaders: Iya Mohamed, with 13 years at FECAFOOT, saw the U17s play in a CAN final, the U20s in two CAN finals, the U23s in two African Games finals and one Olympic Games final, the seniors in three CAN finals and one Confederations Cup final, the women in one CAN final, and the clubs in three African Cup finals. Tombi A Roko, in just two years, led the seniors and women to a CAN final. Seidou Njoya, in three years, saw the U17s play in a CAN final.
In contrast, Edzigui severely criticizes Eto'o's term, whom he nicknames Ndebi alias Dadis Camara, pointing out that in five years, no final has been reached. He is ironic about the friendly match victory against China and the victory against Brazil at the World Cup, while noting the team's early elimination. Edzigui also criticizes Eto'o's management, including the creation of a "chapel of the bewitched" which, according to him, insults critics, as well as incidents such as altercations and insults uttered.
Edzigui denounces controversial decisions, such as the banning of Vincent Aboubacar and André Onana, as well as other key players, and criticizes Eto'o's attitude towards elders and institutions. He criticizes Eto'o for spending his time arguing and defying instructions and the MINSEP (Ministry of Sports and Physical Education).
Edzigui's criticism comes in a context of internal tensions within FECAFOOT, marked by administrative and sporting controversies. In November 2025, Edzigui already accused Eto'o of locking down the system and dismissing his opponents. These accusations have not yet received a public response from Samuel Eto'o.
