Young Cameroonian goalkeeper Simon Ngapandouetnbu continues to impress at Montpellier, earning the trust of his coach, Zoumana Camara. Camara has expressed satisfaction with the goalkeeper's progress since joining the team.
The Montpellier coach highlighted Ngapandouetnbu's impact in several Ligue 2 matches. "Simon Ngapandouetnbu has been a source of satisfaction since his arrival. He is decisive in matches," Camara stated. However, Camara stressed a key area for improvement for the young goalkeeper: consistency. According to him, Ngapandouetnbu still needs to learn to stay focused throughout the entire match, especially during certain restart phases.
Despite these areas for improvement, Zoumana Camara remains confident about Ngapandouetnbu's future. "He is progressing very well, and by continuing to play, he can only improve. As a bonus, he has a very good state of mind, which is an advantage," the coach concluded.
Ngapandouetnbu, 22, has played 1,980 minutes in Ligue 2 this season, with an average rating of 7.13. His contract with Montpellier runs until June 2027. Trained at Olympique de Marseille, Ngapandouetnbu joined Montpellier in the summer of 2025.
Montpellier is currently in 9th place in Ligue 2. Ngapandouetnbu's next match is scheduled for March 6, 2026 against Nancy.
