Cameroonian football has a new rising star. Serge Daura, just 19 years old, was crowned Cameroonian Ballon d'Or winner this Friday, capping off an exceptional 2024-2025 season. The Gazelle FA de Garoua striker surpassed Boris Mfoumou (AS Fortuna) and Nsanfeu Konrad (Panthères) to win the prestigious title.
Daura dominated the league, finishing as top scorer with 15 goals and top assist provider with 11 assists. His performances were essential in enabling Gazelle FA to reach third place. He succeeds Nchindo John Bosco, the previous holder of the trophy.
This year's ceremony was marked by an unprecedented reward. Thanks to a partnership between the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) and Sky Motors, the exclusive distributor of Jetour vehicles in Cameroon, Serge Daura received the keys to a brand new car. This is the first time in the history of the local Ballon d'Or that the winner has received such a prize.
Jean-Marie Nkoussa, Director of Communication for Fecafoot, emphasized the importance of this initiative: "It is about valuing the Cameroonian footballer". This partnership with Sky Motors, formalized in July 2025, aims to modernize the logistics of the Indomitable Lions and strengthen the image of Cameroonian football. Sky Motors has become the official transporter of the Indomitable Lions, providing vehicles for the team's travel.
In addition to the vehicle, Daura also received a 500m² plot of land. Lys Fraîche Tiwa, the winner in the women's category, also received a vehicle, while David Pagou, coach of the national team, received an envelope of one million FCFA and one year of free internet connection from MTN.
At just 19 years old, Serge Daura has already made history in Cameroonian football. His precocious talent and this innovative award mark a new era for the Cameroonian Ballon d'Or.
