The Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé vibrated this Friday evening, crowning Serge Daura as the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner. The 19-year-old striker from Gazelle FA de Garoua dominated the 2024-2025 season with exceptional talent.

Daura proved to be a key element of his team, under the direction of coach Alioum Kada. His prowess in front of goal put opposing defenses to the test, making him a feared player. His performances were unanimously praised by teammates and coaches alike.

The ceremony was marked by the presentation of the trophy by the First Lady, Mrs. Chantal Biya. Visibly moved, Serge Daura experienced a night of consecration, taking home several awards. His exceptional season in Elite One left little room for competition, despite the presence of other talents such as Boris Mfoumou.

Beyond the Ballon d'Or, Daura was named revelation of the 2024-2025 season and won the Golden Boot with 15 goals and 11 assists. He also received the keys to a JETOUR car from the First Lady, an unprecedented reward for a Cameroonian Ballon d'Or winner.

Serge Daura distinguished himself as the top scorer in the Cameroonian league, a major asset for Gazelle FA. His impressive statistics have attracted the attention of European clubs, particularly in the French Ligue 1, where teams such as LOSC and AS Monaco are reportedly interested in his profile.

His remarkable performances earned him a call-up to the Cameroon national team, where he made his first appearance in June 2025 against Uganda. Daura became the first Gazelle FA player to be called up to the national team, following in the footsteps of his idol, Vincent Aboubakar.

At only 19 years old, Serge Daura is considered one of the most promising players in Cameroonian football. His meteoric rise and exceptional talent suggest a bright future for this young striker. The 2025 season will be etched in his memory as one of consecration, where he was recognized as the best player in the country.

The Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) has put in place a rigorous evaluation grid to guarantee the transparency of the Ballon d'Or selection process. The criteria include individual and collective performances, fair play and behavior on and off the field.

Serge Daura's coronation rewards an exceptional season and highlights the emergence of a new generation of talent in Cameroonian football. He leaves with his car as a reward.
