Cameroonian football celebrated its talents at the 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony, held at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. The evening was highlighted by the crowning of Serge Daura, player of Gazelle FA of Garoua, and Lys Fraîche Tiwa, striker of Lekié Football Filles.

Serge Daura, just 19 years old, was honored with the title of best player, and also won the awards for top scorer with 15 goals and revelation of the year. His outstanding performances in Elite One made him a key player for his team, which finished third in the league. Daura expressed his joy despite a power outage during the ceremony. In addition to the prestigious title, Daura received the keys to a JETOUR car, a first in the history of the Cameroonian Ballon d'Or, thanks to a partnership between Fécafoot and Sky Motors. Jean-Marie Nkoussa, Director of Communications for Fécafoot, emphasized that this award aims to promote Cameroonian footballers.

Lys Fraîche Tiwa also shone during the evening, winning the title of best player and top scorer of the 2024-2025 season with 22 goals. The Lekié Football Filles striker and Cameroonian international illuminated her season with fine performances.

Beyond the individual awards, other actors in Cameroonian football were honored, including coach David Pagou, who received an envelope of one million FCFA and a year of free internet connection offered by sponsor MTN.

Serge Daura's crowning, succeeding Nchindo John Bosco, may mark the beginning of a new era for Cameroonian football.
