SBGFC cemented its dominance in Cameroonian customs football by winning the 2025 Gabelous Cup, adding this title to their already acquired championship. The final took place on April 18, 2026, at the Bonamoussadi stadium in Douala, where they defeated GUCE Team, their unfortunate opponent also in the championship.
The match concluded with a penalty shootout after a goalless draw (0-0) during regular time. SBGFC ultimately triumphed with a score of 5 successful shots against 4 for GUCE Team. Despite the defeat, GUCE Team's goalkeeper, Hans Massango, felt that his team had dominated the match, regretting missed opportunities and promising to come back stronger next season.
"We are very happy to have finally achieved the double. It wasn't easy. The opponent was worthy. It was our mental strength that made the difference. Until the last minute, we believed in it. We thank the Lord for that," said SBGFC captain Thierry Giovanni Ngoula, emphasizing his team's tenacity.
Georges Mendouga, head of the Littoral customs sector, praised the Gabelous Foot tournament initiative, highlighting its role in promoting emulation between customs units. He also congratulated the organizers, players, and the large crowd that came to watch the final, hoping for continuous improvement for future editions. Daniel Mongue Nyamsi, president of the organizing committee, paid tribute to Dominique Andomo, founder of the "Gabelou Footnall Club," for his vision and impact on the development of football within the customs community.
The organizers are now inviting customs sectors from the East, North, Far North, and Adamawa to participate in the upcoming tournaments, with ongoing discussions to facilitate their registration and expand the scope of the competition.
