The former captain of the Indomitable Lions then evoked their common roots linked to the city of Douala. "History will remember that a father and a son from Douala accomplished this," he added, thus placing the inauguration within a dynamic of unity. This project, initiated more than ten years ago by former FECAFOOT president Iya Mohamed, experienced interruptions before being relaunched under the Eto'o administration.
