Samuel Eto'o unveiled an ambitious project that could have transformed FECAFOOT's headquarters in Tsinga. During a discussion with young people via Digital B Agency, the president of the organization explained that if Cameroon had qualified for the World Cup, the building was to be demolished to construct a four-star hotel intended to generate income for the Federation.
The former captain of the Indomitable Lions specified that the Federation was considering transforming the Tsinga headquarters to create a new source of income. "If we had qualified for the World Cup, we were to demolish the building [FECAFOOT headquarters in Tsinga, editor's note] and build a 4-star hotel, which would have allowed us to no longer spend too much on the national youth teams," he explained. This strategy aimed to strengthen the financial autonomy of the institution.
In his mind, this infrastructure would have reduced certain costs related to the operation of the national teams. The resources generated would have been used in particular to better supervise the youth teams and to limit certain recurring expenses. An idea that is part of Samuel Eto'o's stated desire to rethink the economic model of Cameroonian football.
Alongside this aborted project, Samuel Eto'o invested his compensation and salary, amounting to 288,000,000 FCFA in four years, to advance the work on the new FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaoundé. In August 2025, he inspected the site, highlighting the quality of the infrastructure being finalized.
In September 2024, a hotel for the Indomitable Lions, located near Yaoundé, was inaugurated. This complex includes 29 rooms, a suite, a conference room and a weight training room.
The works of the new FECAFOOT headquarters, initiated in 2014, have experienced delays. Samuel Eto'o had promised a resumption of work in January 2023, but in April 2023, the construction site was still at a standstill. This project aims to provide Cameroonian football with a modern administrative center.
