Former football star Samuel Eto'o has announced his partnership with the Italian wine brand "The Wine of The Champions," joining other figures from the football world already associated with the company led by businessman Fabio Cordella.
Eto'o shared the news on his Facebook page, expressing his enthusiasm about joining this "big family". He emphasized that this unique project unites two of his great passions: football and fine wine.
In his April 10th post, Eto'o specified that his first three wine labels are now available for online purchase on the brand's e-commerce site. He also issued a call to African importers interested in distributing his wines, inviting them to contact the company.
"The Wine of The Champions" is an initiative by Fabio Cordella that brings together football personalities around wine. Former players such as Vincent Candela, Sébastien Frey, Roberto Carlos, and Wesley Sneijder are also part of this venture. The project aims to introduce Italian wines to a wider audience, including sports and football enthusiasts. Each wine is created in collaboration with the players, reflecting their tastes and personality.
This is not Samuel Eto'o's first foray into business. He previously created a telecommunications company, Set Mobile, and a sports betting company, Betoo, both based in Cameroon. However, these companies did not achieve long-term success. Eto'o stated that Set Mobile had swallowed 4 billion CFA francs, attributing its failure to the mismanagement of trusted individuals.
Beyond football, Eto'o has diversified his investments through Eto'o Group, a company focused on real estate, hospitality, agriculture, and renewable energy. He has also invested in fashion with his clothing brand, Pichichi. His philanthropic commitment is evident through the Samuel Eto'o Private Foundation, which supports projects in education, health, and social development in Africa.
Will "The Wine of The Champions" venture allow Samuel Eto'o to achieve lasting success in the business world, combining his passion for football and his entrepreneurial spirit?
