Dinamo Bucharest, featuring Cameroonian goalkeeper Davis Epassy, saw their Romanian Cup journey come to an abrupt end in the semi-final. The team from the Romanian capital was defeated by CS Universitatea Craiova after a penalty shootout.
The match, played this Thursday, ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time, necessitating a penalty shootout to separate the two teams. Dinamo had taken the lead in the 105th minute thanks to a goal by Kennedy Boateng, but Adrian Rus equalized for Craiova in the 118th minute, prolonging the suspense until the fateful shootout.
Despite Epassy's efforts in goal, Dinamo Bucharest lost 4-1 on penalties, missing the opportunity to compete in the Romanian Cup final. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was unable to stop enough shots to qualify his team.
Devis Epassy, 33 years old, has been playing for Dinamo Bucharest since July 9, 2025. A Cameroonian international, he joined the Romanian club from Karmiotissa in Cyprus. His contract with Dinamo runs until June 30, 2027.
Dinamo Bucharest will have to refocus on the league championship, where they currently sit in 5th place.
