German sportswear giant Puma has chosen the young Cameroonian international Christian Kofane, 19, to succeed Samuel Eto'o Fils as the brand's face for the African continent. The official announcement of this partnership was made on April 9, 2026.

Kofane, who plays as a forward for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, thus becomes a face of Puma in Africa. Like his predecessor, he will have a personalized shoe bearing his name and image. The contract also includes promotional photo shoots.

A notable aspect of this partnership is Kofane's commitment to redistribute part of his annual allocation of sports equipment (balls, shoes, equipment) to the training centers and clubs that trained him in Cameroon.

Puma's choice is part of the brand's “Go Wild” strategy, launched in 2025, which aims to collaborate with athletes with inspiring stories and a strong connection with their fans. Puma targets promising profiles, capable of embodying its values of performance and innovation. The “Go Wild” campaign emphasizes self-expression through sport and is particularly aimed at younger generations.

"Succeeding the legend Samuel Eto'o as the brand's representative on the African continent, the young 19-year-old striker at the recent AFCON in Morocco managed to establish himself and is considered one of the best revelations of this competition on the African scene," an observer noted.

Born on July 26, 2006, in Douala, Christian Kofane began his professional career in Europe with the Spanish club Albacete Balompié before joining Bayer Leverkusen in July 2025. A Cameroonian international, he notably participated in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. His precocious talent is already attracting the interest of major European clubs, such as Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

Founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, Puma is today the third largest sports equipment manufacturer in the world. The German brand is pursuing its development strategy by partnering with rising figures in African sport. This partnership marks an important step in Christian Kofane's career, associating his image with a renowned brand and increasing his visibility on the sports scene.
