The upcoming edition of PRO MEET UP, scheduled from June 1st to 5th, 2026, at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé, places Cameroon at the center of discussions on the development of the transport sector in Central Africa. This event, themed "Central Africa in Motion: Strategies for Emergence and Acceleration of Business in the Sub-Regional Dynamic," aims to transform transit corridors into genuine drivers of added value for the region.

The announcement of this initiative follows a meeting between the Minister of Transport of Cameroon, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe, and a PRO MEET UP delegation led by President Carole Mbessa Elongo. The minister has confirmed his participation in this fifth edition, where he will speak on the role of integrating transport corridors in optimizing flows and developing sub-regional value chains.

Carole Mbessa Elongo emphasizes the importance of this meeting for Cameroon, which wishes to move beyond its role as a simple transit country. The goal is to develop its corridors by transforming raw materials locally and creating economic zones conducive to economic development. The participation of the Ministry of Transport in PRO MEET UP 2026 represents an opportunity to seek funding to support structuring projects in the transport sector.

PRO MEET UP positions itself as an essential exchange platform to stimulate a sustainable and inclusive economy in the CEEAC sub-region. The event will bring together public decision-makers, private sector leaders, investors and institutions around a common goal: to boost the economy of Central Africa. Previous editions have already borne fruit, facilitating important partnerships, such as that between Sapro Group and the Port Authority of Douala.

Beyond plenary conferences and sector workshops, PRO MEET UP 2026 will offer B2B and B2G sessions, as well as a space dedicated to innovation. This diversity of activities will bring together public institutions, financial organizations, international organizations and business leaders from across the sub-region. The event offers a platform to accelerate high-impact economic projects and strengthen intra-regional trade.

In a context where the transport sector in Central Africa faces major challenges, particularly in terms of infrastructure and costs, PRO MEET UP 2026 aims to be a catalyst to unite energies and identify innovative solutions. The event aims to contribute to the emergence of a more competitive and integrated Central Africa, by leveraging the potential of its transport corridors. The Yaoundé meeting reflects a shared desire for collaboration to carry out structuring projects and support regional economic development.
