"Watching Alexandre Song, coming from Cameroon, playing for Arsenal during that time, it was just incredible," Siakam said. He added, "Obviously, there are a lot of good players who came from Cameroon, but he was that type of player that you looked at and you admired his trajectory. What an exceptional player he was for Arsenal, and the things he did there, it gives you the opportunity to say, 'Wow, he comes from the same place as me.' It was very inspiring, of course".
Alexandre Song joined Arsenal in 2005 from SC Bastia and gradually earned his place in the London team under the guidance of Arsène Wenger. He distinguished himself in the Premier League with his elegance, technique, vision, and passing ability. During the 2011-2012 season, Song particularly shone, notably with his numerous assists for Robin van Persie, contributing to a formidable attacking partnership.
After playing more than 200 matches with Arsenal, Song joined FC Barcelona in 2012. His time in Catalonia was less remarkable, but his legacy at Arsenal remains strong.
