Odette Assembe Engoulou has been re-elected as the head of the Cameroon Badminton Federation (FECABAD) during the federal elective general assembly held on April 17 in Yaoundé. Having held the position since 2012, she was elected by acclamation, as her list was the only one in competition.
The leader expressed her satisfaction with this renewal of confidence, seeing it as a reward for her commitment. "I feel a sense of satisfaction. I am pleased to realize that the general assembly has unanimously, by acclamation, decided to renew its confidence... the members of the assembly are happy with the work you do, and of course, you want to continue," she declared.
For her new term, Odette Assembe Engoulou intends to prioritize the preparation of young players, especially cadets and juniors, for the Youth Olympic Games scheduled in Senegal in December.
Recognized on the international stage, Odette Assembe Engoulou has held important positions in the Badminton Confederation of Africa since 2015. She has been a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 2019. She is the vice-president of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee.
Holding a bachelor's degree in private law, a master's degree in local community management, as well as several postgraduate degrees in trade policies and negotiations and in business law, Odette Assembe Engoulou also holds a diploma from the advanced sports management courses of the Olympic Solidarity. She was born on September 25, 1970.
In addition to Odette Assembe Engoulou, the FECABAD management team includes Afane Roger Stéphane (1st vice-president), Doudou André (2nd vice-president), Guiodem Chimène Flore (general secretary) and Ngatounou Rose Nancy wife Aboudi (head of the finance department).
