Former Cameroonian international Nicolas Nkoulou conducted a field visit to the Adamaoua region on March 16, 2026, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP). This initiative aimed to explore and support local projects focused on food security.
Accompanied by Aboubacar Guindo, Deputy Director of WFP in Cameroon, and various partners, Nkoulou visited operational sites in Ngaoundéré. In Tchabal Mounguel, he discovered fish ponds dedicated to fish smoking. In Beka Matali, he learned about a school feeding program.
This visit is part of a broader approach by Nicolas Nkoulou, who retired from international football in February 2026 and now wishes to get involved in humanitarian work. After meeting with WFP officials in Yaoundé, he wanted to see firsthand the actions being taken on the ground.
Nkoulou's commitment to food security was highlighted by his meeting with Gianluca Ferrera, WFP Country Director, where they discussed initiatives to combat hunger and improve access to adequate food for vulnerable communities. Nkoulou expressed his pride in supporting these initiatives, stressing the importance of collective action to end hunger.
The visit ended with friendly exchanges with the local population, suggesting a future commitment of the former Indomitable Lion in these projects.
