Dynamo Douala has parted ways with head coach Simplis Soh following a disappointing first phase, the club announced on April 6. The decision comes after a 2-1 defeat to Unisport Bafang. The club cited the need to revitalize the team after a series of underperforming results.

The club swiftly announced Soh's replacement as Jean-Baptiste Bisseck, former coach of the Indomitable Lionesses. Bisseck will be assisted by Alexandre Belibi Ngolo Thierry, with the rest of the technical staff remaining unchanged. Dynamo's president introduced the new coach to the players on April 7, emphasizing the need for a fresh approach for the second phase of the championship.

"The aim is to bring my expertise to a legendary club like Dynamo," Bisseck stated. He added that he would work with the existing squad and saw a challenge in overcoming the eleven-point deficit the club has accumulated. Bisseck also stressed that no new players would be joining the team immediately.

Soh had taken office in November 2025. Dynamo Douala finished the first phase in 8th place with 5 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses. The team scored and conceded 18 goals. Several other Elite One clubs have also changed coaches during the first half of the season.

Bisseck's first test will be a match against AS Fortuna in Yaoundé. His mission will be to revive the team and transform the Reunification Stadium into a fortress.
