The Miss Cameroon affair continues to make waves. Josiane Golonga, elected Miss Cameroon 2025, has found herself at the center of a controversy following her dismissal on February 25, 2026. Information regarding a possible arrest of Josiane Golonga circulated on social media before being denied by her entourage. A source close to the beauty queen stated that she was free to move about.

However, it appears that Josiane Golonga went to the police station on Thursday evening, following a complaint by Solange Ingrid Amougou, the president of the Miss Cameroon organizing committee (Comica). According to concurring sources, Miss Cameroon 2025, who came to collect her personal belongings from her official residence, was apprehended by police officers acting on the orders of the president of Comica.

The beauty queen was taken to the Odza public safety police station in Yaoundé. After listening to Solange Ingrid Amougou's accusations, Commissioner Jean Nkoa considered that there was no reason to keep Josiane Golonga in custody. He justified his decision by pointing out that, despite her dismissal, the residence remained her home and that she had the right to access it. Josiane Golonga, accompanied by a bailiff, was released.

At the same time, a media campaign targeting Josiane Golonga was launched on social media. She is accused of having a love affair with Abakal Mahamat, managing director of Bgfi bank Cameroon, based on a photo of the two personalities. Journalist Boris Bertolt claims to have been approached by people close to Comica to disseminate information aimed at "tarnishing the image of Josiane Golonga".

Josiane Harangada Golonga is considering legal action regarding this matter. The Massa community, to which she belongs, is preparing to return the assets claimed by Comica, including the vehicle and money. This case highlights the persistent tensions surrounding the Miss Cameroon competition and the sometimes conflicting relationships between the participants and the organizing committee.
