After her dethronement on February 25, 2026, Josiane Harangada Golonga, Miss Cameroon 2025, has finally spoken out. Removed from the Miss Cameroon Organizing Committee (Comica) due to disagreements, she had remained silent despite media requests and the support of her community of origin, the Massa.
Instead of engaging in controversy, Josiane Harangada Golonga chose to address an open letter to her successor, congratulating and encouraging her. This reaction contrasts with the tensions surrounding her dethronement, marked by accusations of "serious and repeated breaches of contractual obligations". Comica accused her of unjustified absences from official events, disrespectful remarks, and the use of a personal manager.
However, Josiane Golonga contests these accusations and demands the payment of her salary arrears as well as the return of her company car. Before her dethronement, she had received a formal notice asking her to report to Comica headquarters, or be considered as having resigned.
The case took a legal turn when Josiane Harangada Golonga, accompanied by a bailiff, was arrested by the police while going to Comica headquarters to collect her belongings. Accused of stealing a car key, she was taken to the police station before being released.
This case highlights the recurring difficulties between Miss Cameroon and Comica, with accusations of discrimination and non-compliance with contractual commitments. The Miss Cameroon competition, presented as a symbol of beauty and culture, once again finds itself at the heart of controversy.
Josiane Harangada Golonga's dethronement propelled Audrey Moutongo, her first runner-up, to the rank of Miss Cameroon 2025.
