It's official: Josiane Harangada Golonga is no longer Miss Cameroon 2025. A statement from the Miss Cameroon Organizing Committee (Comica), released on February 25, 2026, announces her immediate dismissal. This decision comes after the expiration of an ultimatum addressed to the beauty queen.
Comica accuses Josiane Harangada of "unjustified absence from several important official events, disrespectful remarks and attitudes towards the institution and its members, unilateral cessation of activities related to her mandate, and the use of a personal manager in violation of contractual clauses". In other words, the committee accuses her of disrespecting her commitments and the Miss Cameroon institution.
The situation had worsened in recent weeks between the Miss and Comica. Sources indicate that the Massa community, from which Josiane Harangada comes, had denounced a media campaign against their representative. Comica then summoned the Miss to make amends under penalty of dismissal. Her silence and absence led to the execution of this threat.
The statement specifies that the decision takes effect immediately and that the first runner-up is called upon to ensure the continuity of the function and to preserve the image of the institution. The identity of the first runner-up and the terms of her taking office have not been specified.
A team of lawyers formed by Josiane Golonga is preparing a communication and is considering legal action. The Massa community has reportedly already taken steps to return the vehicle and money claimed from Josiane Golonga, prioritizing "the image and dignity of this girl". Josiane Harangada Golonga was elected Miss Cameroon in July 2025. Originally from the Far North region, she was the first winner from this region. A former student of the Higher School of Information and Communication Technology (ESSTIC), she focused her project on the empowerment of women.
