Josiane Harangada Golonga, Miss Cameroon 2025, has engaged a bailiff to formally denounce what she considers harassment by the Miss Cameroon Organizing Committee (COMICA). According to documents reviewed, the beauty queen and the institution responsible for her protection are in open conflict.
The bailiff's writ, served on Solange Ingrid Amougou, founding president of COMICA, details a series of serious breaches of the code of conduct. Between December 3 and 27, 2025, Josiane Golonga received nine warning letters, sometimes two on the same day, for reasons such as insolence, disrespect, and insubordination. The beauty queen rejects these accusations, calling them "false statements intended to defame her intellectually".
Beyond the moral aspects, the beauty queen is claiming payment of her salaries for December 2025 and January 2026, as well as the return of her company car, which was withdrawn in violation of COMICA's code of conduct. She threatens to use all legal means if her demands are not met.
The case takes a more serious turn with allegations of discrimination. Josiane Golonga, who is from Yagoua, in the Far North region of Cameroon, claims that telephone and WhatsApp exchanges with the president of COMICA contain "insulting stereotypes related to her education". She denounces a systematic promotion of the runners-up to the detriment of the titleholder, because of her origins. The insults allegedly call into question the education received by "the girl from the Far North," thus attacking "the entire Cameroonian education system".
Josiane Golonga also criticizes the lack of a defined program for her activities, contrary to the provisions of Article 17 of the code of conduct. Information is shared randomly on a WhatsApp group, which she considers difficult and contrary to the commitments made.
The case highlights the credibility stakes for the Miss Cameroon competition. How can young candidates be attracted if the institution supposed to protect them turns against them? How can sponsors be guaranteed a positive brand image when the beauty queen herself denounces discrimination?
On February 25, 2026, COMICA announced the dismissal of Josiane Golonga from her title as Miss Cameroon, citing unjustified absences, disrespectful behavior, unilateral termination of her activities, and the use of a personal manager in violation of her contract. The first runner-up, Orphée Dinangue, will serve as interim until the next election.
