Marie Claire Dieudonnee Nseng Elang was officially installed as Attorney General at the Supreme Court of Cameroon on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, during the solemn hearing of the judicial year. Her appointment, effective since November 20, 2025, by presidential decree, marks a historic step, as she is the first woman to hold this position.
Prior to this appointment, Marie Claire Dieudonnee Nseng Elang held the position of Director of General Affairs at the Ministry of Justice. Her career in the judiciary began in 1988 as a deputy prosecutor in Yaoundé, then in Mbalmayo, before becoming a controller at the Inspectorate of Judicial Services in 2001 and an inspector at the General Inspectorate of Judicial Services in 2012. This ascent demonstrates her expertise and in-depth knowledge of the Cameroonian judicial system.
