André Onana's mixed performances at Manchester United continue to fuel debate in the football world. Liliane Gatounes, a sports analyst, recently expressed her incomprehension at the Cameroonian goalkeeper's decision to leave Inter Milan and join the English club.
Gatounes shared her thoughts on Mbocky Culture, questioning whether the transfer was beneficial for the Lions Indomptables goalkeeper's career. "I didn't understand why he left Inter to end up at Manchester," she said, stressing that the choice had not been beneficial for his trajectory. Onana, who arrived at Manchester United in July 2023 with the ambition of staying at the highest level, has seen his value decline over his two seasons with the Red Devils. However, the Turkish club does not have the financial means to trigger the purchase option set at 45 million euros by Manchester United.
Trabzonspor vice-president Zeyyat Kafkas said that the club could not afford to pay Manchester United's asking price for Onana. He added that Onana wanted to continue playing in Europe if it was not in England.
