Toulouse FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory against FC Lorient this Saturday at the Stadium de Toulouse, in a match of the 27th day of Ligue 1. A late moment of brilliance from Emersonn in the 80th minute was enough to unlock a game that seemed destined for a draw.
The first hour of the match was characterized by mutual caution, with Lorient largely dominating ball possession (around 58%). However, this territorial dominance proved sterile, as Les Merlus struggled to really trouble Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes. The statistics illustrate this offensive difficulty, with only two shots on target out of seven attempts.
Toulouse, for their part, adopted a more patient approach, relying on quick counter-attacks. Emersonn's entry into the game in the hour mark energized the Toulouse attack.
