The Cameroonian media world is mourning the loss of journalist Arnaud Nguefack, who passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, following a sudden illness. Serge Aimé Bikoi, a Cameroonian journalist and sociologist, paid a vibrant tribute to his colleague, highlighting his talent and dedication.
Arnaud Nguefack began his journalism career at Radio Tiemeni Siantou (RTS) as part of the 2007-2008 class, participating in the Futuroscope program. He was among the last generation of young journalists who contributed to the production of youth newspapers, alongside Adiano Koagne, Augustin Guizanna, Armand Mouko, Brice Cardeau Simeu, and Jourdain Fotso Ngassam.
Serge Aimé Bikoi, who was their senior at RTS, remembers this generation as being made up of very talented budding journalists. Several of them went on to have brilliant careers, such as Augustin Guizanna, who is now at CRTV Littoral, and Armand Mouko, who became communications director for an international organization after a stint at the BBC. Jourdain Fotso Ngassam is the technical service manager at RTS, while Brice Cardeau Simeu became an academic and former executive at the Ministry of External Relations.
Dieudonné Ngassam, formerly of RTS, quickly recognized Arnaud Nguefack's talent and brought him to Kiss Fm in 2013, a new urban station promoted by Pastor Jean James Nkoudou. Bikoi, Ngassam, and Nguefack were the first journalists to join the station. Under the direction of Jason Black, Kiss Fm saw the arrival of several collaborators such as Soleil Leka, Michael Doppas, and Mireille Gousse. Arnaud Nguefack hosted a very popular interactive show there from Monday to Friday.
In 2013, Arnaud Nguefack left Kiss Fm for Canal 2 International. He was also among the co-founding members of the web platform Le Quatrième pouvoir, with Eric Vareni, Ulrich Armel, and Narcisse Fonkou.
Serge Aimé Bikoi remembers Arnaud Nguefack as a journalist "in his purest form", an ingenious, dedicated, and meticulous reporter. He emphasizes his respect and professionalism, recalling that Arnaud always called him "Prof".
