The Miss Cameroon Organizing Committee (Comica) has announced the removal of Josiane Harangada Golonga from her title as Miss Cameroon 2025, a title she won in July 2025. Comica justifies this contract termination by citing several serious breaches attributed to Josiane Harangada Golonga. The committee also accuses her of "unilaterally ceasing activities related to her mandate" and "using a personal manager in violation of contractual clauses".
Despite several attempts at dialogue, Comica claims that Josiane Harangada Golonga remained silent, thus demonstrating a "clear refusal to respect her commitments". The announcement of this dismissal follows a summons sent to the Miss, giving her five days to explain her conduct. So far, Josiane Harangada Golonga has not yet publicly responded to these accusations.
Orphée Dinangue, Miss Littoral 2025 and now interim Miss Cameroon, will have the task of representing the country until the election of the next beauty queen. This situation occurs amidst tensions between Comica and Josiane Harangada Golonga, marked by accusations of contractual breaches and unanswered requests for explanations.
A few days before this announcement, Comica had already summoned Josiane Harangada Golonga to explain herself under penalty of dismissal, notably criticizing her absence from official events and breaches of her contractual obligations. The Massa community, from which Josiane Harangada Golonga originates, had also denounced what they considered media harassment against their representative.
Josiane Harangada Golonga was elected Miss Cameroon on July 12, 2025, during the 18th edition of the competition, at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. Her reign, initially planned for three years, is thus abruptly interrupted.
Comica reaffirms its commitment to defending the integrity and credibility of the Miss Cameroon competition. The institution insists on respecting contractual commitments and the need for Miss Cameroon to represent the country with dignity.
