Cameroonian goalkeeper Joseph Fabrice Ondoa Ebogo, hero of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, is experiencing a complicated start to the season with his new club, Rabotnički Skopje in North Macedonia. Having joined in early February 2026, Ondoa has conceded 16 goals in just five official matches across all competitions.

North Macedonia doesn't seem to be smiling on Ondoa at the moment. His performances are below expectations, and he has failed to keep a clean sheet, whether in the league or cup. The low point of his struggles came on March 4, during a 3-1 defeat against Makedonija Skopje, where one of his errors directly led to an opponent's goal.

The only match where Ondoa didn't concede a goal was a friendly against Kozuf Gevgelija, where his team won 2-0. However, his performances in official matches have raised concerns. After a series of poor results, Ondoa was relegated to the bench for a league match. His absence coincided with a 3-0 victory for his team against the bottom of the table, leading media consultant Ivan Kamwa to suggest that Ondoa might be the problem.

Ondoa, 30 years old, joined FK Rabotnicki on February 2, signing a six-month contract with an option for an additional year. He came from FK Auda in Latvia. Despite these difficult beginnings, the website kamerfoot.com calls for patience, pointing out that the championship has 33 matchdays and that Rabotnički, although in the relegation zone, is only seven points from safety.

FK Rabotnički Skopje's next match is scheduled for March 7, 2026, against FK Arsimi 1973. The team, nicknamed "The Romantics," plays its home matches at the National Arena Toše Proeski in Skopje, which can accommodate up to 33,460 spectators. It remains to be seen whether Ondoa will manage to reverse the trend and establish himself in his new club. Rabotnički's current league situation adds extra pressure on the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
