Ivory Coast made a strong impression at the 62nd edition of the International Agricultural Show (SIA) in Paris in 2026, transforming its participation into a true demonstration of agricultural leadership. As the guest of honor, the Ivorian delegation, led by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné, highlighted a strategy focused on results and concrete commitments.
Two major memoranda of understanding were signed on February 23, demonstrating the desire to strengthen agricultural cooperation between Ivory Coast and France. A partnership was established with AGRIMUNDI, focused on applied research, innovation and technology transfer. An agreement was also concluded with MAS Seeds, a specialist in high-performance seeds. These agreements aim to increase the competitiveness of Ivorian agricultural sectors and consolidate producers' incomes. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the French Minister of Agriculture, Annie Genevard, and the Ambassador of Ivory Coast to France, Maurice Bandaman, underlining the diplomatic importance of these advances.
With a 500 m² stand, Ivory Coast highlighted the dynamism of its agricultural sectors and encouraged professional exchanges. The friendly atmosphere and the richness of Ivorian gastronomy contributed to making the pavilion an attractive space for cultural outreach. This participation helped to recall that agriculture is a pillar of the Ivorian economy, providing the most jobs and ensuring social stability.
Ivory Coast, the world's leading producer of cocoa, cashew nuts and cola nuts, seized the opportunity to reaffirm its ambition to modernize its value chains and strengthen local processing. The country also wishes to develop its animal sectors to reduce its dependence on imports and is committed to sustainable agriculture, with programs dedicated to the management of forests and water resources.
By positioning itself as a strategic agricultural hub in West Africa, Ivory Coast is sending a strong signal: African agriculture has the potential to establish itself on the international scene with method, ambition and professionalism.
