The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon continued their preparations this Saturday with an intense second training session at the military stadium in Yaoundé. All 30 players summoned by coach David Pagou were present for this closed-door session, which lasted almost two hours.
The program included various exercises focused on agility and building plays. The players participated in scrimmages to simulate real match situations, allowing Pagou to assess their ability to adapt and execute strategies. According to Pagou, this training camp is an opportunity for local players to prove their worth and get closer to the national team.
This initiative is part of David Pagou's desire to give local talent a chance and prepare the team for the future. He wants to remind players playing in the local league that they are being considered for international competitions. The Cameroonian coach recently extended his contract with the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), a sign of the confidence placed in him to develop local football.
The next training session is scheduled for this Sunday, again at the military stadium in Yaoundé and behind closed doors, starting at 3:00 p.m. These gatherings aim to prepare the players for future deadlines, in particular the qualifications for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
In parallel with this training camp, several Cameroonian players have distinguished themselves in their respective clubs abroad, like Christian Kofane, who scored in the Bundesliga, and Ngamaleu, who scored twice in the Russian Cup.
