The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) inaugurated its new headquarters this Wednesday, May 13, 2026, marking a significant step for the organization of football in the country. Located in the Warda district, in the heart of Yaoundé, the building was officially opened by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute, in the presence of Samuel Eto'o, president of FECAFOOT, and numerous figures from African football.

The ceremony brought together political figures, sports luminaries, and former glories of African football. This event is seen as one of the flagship projects of the current FECAFOOT administration. Joseph Dion Ngute, representing the President of the Republic, emphasized the importance of this infrastructure for the development of Cameroonian football. Patrice Motsepe, president of CAF, was also present, demonstrating the importance of this event on a continental scale.

In his speech, Samuel Eto'o paid tribute to Iya Mohamed, whom he considers the visionary behind this project. He also expressed his gratitude to Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, recognizing a collective achievement despite past tensions between the federation and the Ministry of Sports. Eto'o emphasized that these new headquarters will improve FECAFOOT's administrative efficiency and better serve Cameroonian football.

A particularly emotional moment was Samuel Eto'o's proposal to Roger Milla to take over the presidency of the FECAFOOT Foundation. This proposal, full of symbolism and personal history, was enthusiastically received by the audience. Roger Milla, an emblematic figure of Cameroonian football, accepted this responsibility, thus reinforcing his commitment to the development of the sport in his country.

The new FECAFOOT headquarters is presented as a modern complex designed to optimize the administrative functioning of the organization. Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, praised this initiative, stating that this infrastructure marks a new chapter in the history of Cameroonian football. He added that this type of investment is essential to ensure a prosperous future for the country's football.

The festivities surrounding this inauguration began on Tuesday with a sports march, a gala match, and a concert at the military stadium in Yaoundé, demonstrating the importance of this event for the Cameroonian football community. The inauguration of these new headquarters represents a major investment in the future of Cameroonian football.
