The Manila Banka High School, located in the Haut-Nkam department, is facing serious accusations against its principal, Tchoukoue Eric Zito. Allegations of sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and opaque financial management have been made against him.
According to information relayed by MMINews, several students have allegedly been victims of sexual abuse by the principal since he took office. Sources also mention cases of pregnancies and abortions that were allegedly recorded in a clinic in Baham.
It is also reported that young girls who refused the principal's advances were allegedly excluded from the school without appearing before a disciplinary council. Temporary female teachers also allegedly lost their positions for resisting this pressure.
The school's financial management is also under scrutiny. Sources claim that no payments were made this year to the high school's bank accounts domiciled at Mufid Banka. Revenue from registration and school fees was allegedly managed outside of the usual procedures.
Faced with this situation, members of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) and the School Board have reportedly distanced themselves from the high school administration, refusing to be associated with certain denounced practices. In addition, no class council, pedagogical council, or regulatory meeting was allegedly organized at the end of the school year, with fictitious reports produced to mask this situation.
Complaints have reportedly been filed with the Prefect of Haut-Nkam, the Departmental Delegate of Secondary Education, and the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Bafang.
For the time being, the principal in question has not reacted publicly. The accusations remain to be established by the competent authorities as part of the ongoing investigations.
