Former Indomitable Lion Geremi Njitap made a notable appearance at the opening of the 26th FENASSCO League A Games, held in Bafoussam and Bangangté since April 19, 2026. As the event's mascot, the current president of the National Union of Cameroonian Footballers (SYNAFOC) had the honor of lighting the Olympic flame, a powerful symbol of this school competition.
"It's an immense pleasure and happiness for me to return to the land where I started everything," said Geremi Njitap, visibly moved to participate in this event. He emphasized the importance of youth as the spearhead of the nation and expressed his enthusiasm in encouraging the young talents present. The former Real Madrid player also praised the level of play of the students, particularly during a women's football match he attended, seeing it as a promising pool for the future of Cameroonian sport.

The 2026 FENASSCO League A Games bring together 2,158 participants competing in 12 different disciplines. Initially scheduled a week earlier, the games were postponed due to the visit of Pope Leon IV to Cameroon.
