The Cameroon National Salvation Front (FSNC) is actively preparing for the return of its president, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, currently in exile in Gambia. Joseph Espoir Biyong, a new member of the FSNC, stated that the party anticipates a triumphant return of the man he considers the "new president of the Republic of Cameroon".
Issa Tchiroma Bakary, a prominent Cameroonian political figure, held several ministerial positions under President Paul Biya, including Minister of Communication from 2009 to 2019 and Minister of Employment and Vocational Training until June 2025. Breaking with the ruling regime, he ran in the October 2025 presidential election, claiming victory even before the official results were released.
On his Meta page, Joseph Espoir Biyong wrote: "The FSNC is preparing a historic event: the triumphant return of the new president of the Republic of Cameroon! In peace and serenity, let us prepare to welcome ISSA TCHIROMA BAKARY, our future president. Nothing and no one can prevent this evidence. His international recognition is underway and will soon be finalized". Biyong also called for reconciliation and unity, adding that "the whole world is accompanying Cameroon towards its happiness".
The FSNC, a political party founded by Issa Tchiroma in 2007, aims to play a major role in the political future of Cameroon. The return of its charismatic leader could mark an important step in achieving this goal. However, it should be noted that in February 2026, the FSNC's central committee stated that the party would not participate in the upcoming legislative and municipal elections, believing that the minimum conditions for a democratic election were not met.
