Cameroonian forward Frank Magri officially announced his departure from Toulouse FC this Saturday, bringing an end to a three-season stint in Ligue 1. Having been sidelined from the professional squad for several months due to contractual disagreements, Magri is leaving the club as a free agent upon the expiration of his contract.
In a message posted on his social media, the Cameroonian international expressed his gratitude towards his teammates, the coaching staff, and the club's supporters. "Thank you Toulouse. Thank you to my teammates, to Carles, to my staff, to the medical staff, as well as the club's employees. Thank you for your trust, your support, and your daily kindness," he wrote. Magri also emphasized that he spent three seasons with the club where he felt "appreciated and respected," choosing to remember only the good memories experienced at the Stadium.
Last season, Frank Magri played 17 matches for Toulouse, scoring 5 goals and providing one assist. However, tensions with the management, linked to his refusal to extend his contract, led to his exclusion from the first team in January. According to some sources, the club had rejected an offer of more than 4 million euros from Swansea last summer for the player.
Now 26 years old, Magri is free to sign with the club of his choice. Several clubs may be interested in him, including West Bromwich Albion, which is actively seeking a versatile striker capable of also playing on the right wing. His experience in Ligue 1 and his solid performances in France could make him a valuable asset for a Championship team.
