Cameroon News

The Cameroonian brokerage firm FedhEn Capital has announced a reshuffle of its governance with the appointment of Josiane Tchoungui as Chairman of the Board and Jules Samain as General Manager. This decision follows a period of resignations within the management team and aims to strengthen the company's position in the CEMAC (Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa) financial market.

Josiane Tchoungui, who has assumed her duties as Chairman, is an experienced banker with over 17 years of experience in the banking and financial sector in sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining FedhEn Capital, she was the General Manager of Atlantic Cocoa Corporation (ACC), a subsidiary of the Bernard Koné Dossongui group. Her background also includes management positions at BGFIBank Cameroon and Orabank Benin, where she turned around the bank's financial situation in two years. According to her, her priority is to support the management and ensure sound governance, so that FedhEn Capital's growth is in line with its strategic objectives and long-term vision.

Jules Samain, the new General Manager, also brings solid experience to FedhEn Capital. Prior to this appointment, he was already a member of the company's board of directors. His professional background includes stints at GuarantCo, Arise IIP and Spiro, as well as experience in the microfinance sector and at Ecobank. He also led an Acumen initiative dedicated to providing access to energy for isolated populations. Samain stated that FedhEn Capital will focus on scaling up, institutional strength and regional expansion, aiming to meet the expectations of clients, partners and regulators in the CEMAC region.

In addition to these key appointments, FedhEn Capital has also strengthened its operational team with the appointment of Roland Keyi as Director of Origination, Clara Ngando as Administrative and Financial Director, and Eva Youmbi, whose responsibilities have been expanded to head of capital markets. In addition, Orchidea Komba has been appointed Country Manager in Gabon, where FedhEn Capital recently opened an office.

These changes come as FedhEn Capital consolidates its governance framework and internal organization, complying with OHADA corporate law, COSUMAF regulations and international standards for governance and risk management. The company intends to capitalize on this momentum to establish itself as a leading player in the mobilization of regional capital and accelerate its expansion in the CEMAC zone.
