The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) is preparing a 2025 edition of the Cameroonian Ballon d'Or that is more ambitious and competitive than previous ones. Jean-Marie Nkoussa, FECAFOOT's communications director, announced on the AFRICA VISION SPORT program on Vision4 that this edition will further highlight Cameroonian football stakeholders.
The 2025 edition of the Cameroonian Ballon d'Or aims to be more challenging, with a diversification of prizes to reward a wide range of football stakeholders: local and expatriate players, young talents, coaches and other deserving figures. This strategy aims to strengthen the recognition of individual performances and stimulate competitiveness within the championships.
FECAFOOT wants to restore the luster of national awards and durably register the event on the African sporting agenda. For FECAFOOT, the promotion of players involves a structural project aimed at improving the image, conditions and recognition of Cameroonian footballers, both locally and internationally.
By increasing the number of prizes and involving its partners, the federation aims to create a virtuous dynamic around excellence and merit. FECAFOOT partner Sky Motors will offer a Jetour brand vehicle to the winner of the 2025 Cameroonian Ballon d'Or.
The 4th edition of the Cameroonian Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held on February 27, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. The jury will be composed of journalists, including Priscille Messene (rapporteure), Lawrence Nkede and Basile Junior Levodo. Eleven players are nominated for the title, including Serge Daura, Boris Mfoumou, Idrissou Nfor Finia and Manguele Elong.
FECAFOOT has entrusted the captains and coaches of the MTN Elite One teams with the task of selecting the winners, thus depriving the public and the media of their right to vote. Only the Goal of the Year category will allow supporters to vote.
The 2025 edition of the Cameroonian Ballon d'Or promises to be a major event to celebrate the talents and actors of Cameroonian football.
