In a message published on social media, FECAFOOT expressed its gratitude to the distinguished guests who honored this historic event with their presence. "A thousand thanks to the President of CAF, Dr. Motsepe, and to the members of the government, led by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, personal representative of the Head of State, who marked this historic day for Cameroonian football with their presence," the message read.
The new FECAFOOT headquarters, located in the Warda district of Yaoundé, is a modern five-story building. This ambitious project, initially conceived in 2010 by former FECAFOOT president Iya Mohammed, was completed under the leadership of current president Samuel Eto'o. It symbolizes the modernization of football infrastructure in Cameroon and demonstrates CAF's commitment to developing football facilities across Africa.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute hailed the completion of the headquarters as evidence of the State's commitment to promoting and developing football, describing it as a symbol of national pride and institutional progress. Samuel Eto'o paid tribute to Iya Mohammed, calling him the true architect of the new headquarters.
