According to neighbors, Thérèse took advantage of her husband's absences to have an affair with a motorcycle taxi driver. Having been informed, Amougou K. had discreetly installed surveillance cameras in his home.
On the day of the birthday, many guests were already there at 3 p.m., enjoying the music and the festive atmosphere. The husband, meanwhile, had left to prepare a special surprise.
A few weeks earlier, Amougou K. had promised his wife an unforgettable birthday present. When the time came, he presented her with a large, carefully wrapped package. Thérèse, thinking it was a work of art, opened it in front of about fifty people.
Instead of a canvas, she discovered a compromising image: a video showing her in the act of adultery with her lover on the marital bed. Panic seized the guests, who quickly left the scene.
At the time of publication of this article, Thérèse B. was missing. This case raises questions about the limits of revenge and the consequences of infidelity within the couple. Article 361 of the Cameroonian Penal Code provides for up to six months' imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 francs for a married woman who has extramarital relations. For men, the sentence only applies if the infidelity occurs in the marital home or if the extramarital relations become "habitual" outside the home.
