The education arm of Enko Capital, led by Cameroonian financiers Alain and Cyrille Nkontchou, has raised $46 million (approximately FCFA 25.5 billion) to accelerate its expansion in sub-Saharan Africa. This financial operation reinforces the position of Cameroonian entrepreneurial capital in the strategic segment of international education.

Enko Education announced on February 17, 2026, the completion of a fundraising of approximately FCFA 25.5 billion. These funds are intended to finance the expansion of its network of international schools in sub-Saharan Africa. The operation includes a FCFA 12 billion loan granted by Standard Bank, a South African financial institution. This financing aims to accelerate the extension of the network and support an ambitious growth trajectory.

Enko Education's objective is to triple the number of its students to reach 20,000 learners by 2029. Cyrille Nkontchou emphasizes that Enko Education is an ideal partner for school owners wishing to pass on their institution to a group that respects their vision while providing the resources necessary for their development.

This initiative is part of a continental consolidation strategy led by capital of Cameroonian origin. The co-founders of Enko Capital, Alain and Cyrille Nkontchou, have gradually structured a group present in 16 schools spread across 10 sub-Saharan African countries, including Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa.

In Cameroon, the network includes the La Gaité school complex in Yaoundé. This local presence concretizes the group's continental ambition and positions Enko Education as a major player in the Cameroonian high-end private education market, with international funding and a standardized academic model.

Enko Education highlights a program preparing for the International Baccalaureate (IB). This program aims to facilitate access to international universities. The group states that more than 80% of its graduates have joined more than 600 universities around the world, including Sciences Po, the University of Toronto, the University of Cape Town and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Enko Education claims to be the largest network of IB schools in Africa.

In January 2025, Enko Education had already obtained a $24 million equity investment from Africa Capitalworks and historical investor Adiwale Fund I. The company, created in 2013, aims to make the IB accessible to the African middle class.
