The director of Éditions Clé, Reverend Serge Patrick Locko, recalled the evolution of the publishing house from its beginnings in 1963, as a producer of evangelization tools, to its current role as a defender of African thought through general literature, education, and Christian literature. Despite the challenges posed by competition and technological advances, Clé has adapted while remaining true to its mission.
As the debate about the survival of the paper book persists in the face of the rise of digital technology, Vincent Lélé, director of Éditions Clé, emphasized that the paper book retains an important place, even in the digital age. Guillaume Nana, a loyal author of the publishing house, added that the paper book remains irreplaceable. However, Éditions Clé is not lagging in digital matters. They offer digital versions of their books and plan to create a YouTube channel to expand their audience.
The celebration of this anniversary will be marked by various activities, including round table discussions, book signings, and a writing competition. A round table on the theme "Editions Clé: 60 years and beyond? Assessment and outlook" will close the literary festival. Employees of Éditions Clé will also be honored with medals of honor for their work. The event will conclude with a gala service.
