The town of Edéa, in the Littoral region, is shaken by a case of child abuse. A man of approximately 60 years old was arrested following accusations of abuse on a 15-year-old teenager, according to local sources.
According to several testimonies from residents of the Dipita neighborhood, the suspect was allegedly caught in a compromising situation with the minor. The rapid intervention of local residents made it possible to control the situation and hand the individual over to law enforcement.
Beyond the alleged facts, it is above all the declarations of the inhabitants that fuel the controversy. Several of them claim that the man is known in the neighborhood for similar behavior, mentioning past arrests followed by releases.
"This is not the first time we have heard of him," confides a local resident under anonymity, reflecting a feeling of shared exasperation in the area.
According to available information, the suspect was taken to the central police station n°2 of Edéa for investigation purposes. Between indignation and concern, many residents are calling for a firm response from the authorities.
