An act of appalling cruelty has sparked outrage and anger in the Fokeré neighborhood of Dschang. A man is accused of inflicting severe abuse on three children, aged 5 to 13, burning them with an iron over a missing 200 FCFA.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on Sunday evening. The suspect allegedly plugged in an iron and used it to burn the children on various parts of their bodies. He accused them of stealing the paltry sum of 200 FCFA. As if that wasn't enough, he then allegedly tied them up inside the house before leaving to consume drinks at a nearby bar.
The children's cries of distress alerted the neighborhood. A concerned resident intervened after hearing the cries coming from the house. The victims were rescued and rushed to Maka Hospital for medical attention.
Witnesses report that the children have significant burns on several parts of their bodies. The mother, deeply affected by the horror of the scene, is in a state of shock and has been placed on an IV drip. Organizations like UNICEF are fighting against violence against children in Cameroon. The incident is reminiscent of other cases of senseless violence against children for trivial amounts.
