The Cameroonian company Micasa by MCG Sarl plans to build an industrial unit in Douala, Cameroon's economic capital, for the production of doors, office furniture, furniture, and modern wooden kitchens. The investment in this factory amounts to 3 billion FCFA.
An agreement was signed on February 19, 2026, in Yaoundé with the Investment Promotion Agency (API), allowing Micasa by MCG Sarl to benefit from tax and customs exemptions ranging from 5 to 10 years. These exemptions are granted under the law of April 2013 on incentives for private investment in Cameroon, readjusted by the Head of State's ordinance of July 18, 2025. The emphasis is on job creation and the processing of local raw materials.
Micasa by MCG Sarl's project is in line with this logic of transforming Cameroonian wood. The company aims to create 350 direct jobs in the first phase, and approximately 1,000 jobs in the long term.
This project supports the Cameroonian government's import substitution policy, which aims to stimulate local production and reduce imports. Since 2023, circulars relating to the preparation of state budgets have prioritized locally made furniture in public procurement. The 2024 finance law introduces a 25% excise duty on imports of wooden articles, metal furniture used in offices, wooden furniture used in kitchens, and plastic furniture.
Micasa by MCG Sarl is a Cameroonian brand specializing in the design, manufacture, and distribution of modern furniture and furnishings. The company aims to offer elegant, functional, and sustainable spaces, adapted to today's lifestyles in Cameroon. The establishment of this industrial unit in Douala could stimulate the local wood sector and reduce dependence on imports.
